Any tribute begins with photographs. As you look through albums or boxes of pictures, you’re looking
at the raw material we use to build your tribute. We use between 25 and 100 photos to create a
tribute. We’ll work with you to gather those and put them in order, numbering them for ease of use.
(Be sure to mark the albums they’ve come from, so you can replace them later).
When we launched Prodora in 2005, we anticipated our major market would be the arrival of a new baby
to a family. Perhaps the hustle of life is stalling those efforts; we are finding huge acceptance of
our memorial tributes for use at funerals or life celebrations.
As we’re gathering photos for your tribute, we also ask for a little history of the person, so we
can build a story in titles along with the photos.
If you are able to attach captions, identifying people in a photo (sticky notes are great for this)
then our relationship to your family deepens and we create a better product. We scan each photo,
colour correcting, cropping and developing a timeline.
“Who’s got time for this when someone has just died?” you might ask. We find that it’s actually a
valuable part of the grieving process and the family member put in charge of this is generally glad
to be able to do it.
We ask a few questions to make sure the video is personalized. We ask you to help identify favourite
music selections and we either get the music from you or acquire it (legally) through i-tunes.
The video will open with your loved one’s first name, full names with dates and a personal message
from family, co-workers, whoever is launching the tribute.
A Prodora tribute is a life keepsake, and now we can use this material to develop hard cover books,
excellent keepsakes for friends and family members.
Once your tribute is complete, we go through it with you, using the computer you’ll be using, and
making sure it says exactly what you want it to say. It can still be changed at that point.
When the tribute is delivered for final use, we can either be there to play it for you, or instruct
someone on handling the technical aspect of this.
Please note that we can work with you at a distance. You can send us your photos physically or
electronically. It’s very easy
to communicate by email and phone, testing as we go.
